The Geelong Umpires are lucky enough to have a presentation from Josh Bird, a Physiotherapist/Strength and Conditioning Coach with extensive experience working with professional sporting teams including Super Rugby, NRL and International Rugby Union and League.

Josh has a proven track record in keeping players on the field, and getting injured players back quickly and effectively, in some of the most high-pressure sporting environments in the world. This success is built on developing great relationships with coaches within a collaborative and performance driven approach.
Josh graduated from the University of Queensland with a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy Studies, and also holds a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science from James Cook University. Josh is passionate about furthering the new field of Performance Healthcare that is truly proactive.

Josh will be at training on Monday the 23rd of Feb to run each discipline group through a 15-20min program and in site in to how this could benefit the umpire.

The way the night will run will be as follows:
5:30-5:45 Goal Umpires will go through program with Josh
5:45-6:00 Field Umpires
6:00-6:15 Boundary Umpires
From 6:15pm on there a chance for questions for any umpire who may be interested in taking up Josh’s offer for a program.
I have attached Josh’s website to view for more information. Let me know if you have any questions.
